My name is Susan Stein, and I am a married mother of two girls. I was born in the Netherlands, well, some time ago now! I moved to Australia 11 years ago, to live with my Australian husband, whom I met in Africa. I had a very different carreer living in Holland, but always had a huge interest in food, and healthy lifestyle. I participated in numerous courses at the Kushi Institute of Europe, a leading institute of Macrobiotics. I now reside in the Redlands and I just finished my Bachelor of Health, Nutritional Medicine.
What is Nutritional Medicine?
Nutritional medicine is a naturopathic modality that considers food and nutrients in relation to health and disease. It looks at the quality of food, preparation and macro and micronutrients needed by an individual at various stages of life.
A client’s medical history and symptoms and conducting basic naturopathic and conventional screening are used to diagnosis and determine the needs of the client. Individualised recommendations for dietary changes intended to support health, as well as a regimen of nutritional
supplements to correct clinical or functional deficiencies. Nutritionists can work with people at any stage of life and with a variety of illnesses, f.e.:
• Irritable bowel syndrome
• Liver disorders
• Addiction detox
• PMS and other female diseases
• Food allergies
• Weight gain or loss
• ADD/ADHD and autism
• A variety of chronic diseases
Being a mother myself, I am looking for ways to incorporate the new lifestyle changes in a practical manner, and make adjustments which could fit the whole family. If you have any questions, please fill out the form at the ‘contact me’ header, text me or send me an email.
